Default Newt from Idaho

My name is Wayne and I live in Afghanistan (well at least for work). I am new to metal shaping and have some motorcycle tanks I'd like to build plus a couple of 60's cars that need restored. Hope to learn more about how to make the panels I will need for my project. Also want to see how others make their panel and the tools they use.

Ok, I tried to have fun with that but I bet more people than not have tried to do that as well. Was looking for the icon to strike out Joe's name and his location and just post verbatim.
I prefer to not give exact locations at this time while overseas. I do own a house in SE Idaho near Idaho Falls but looking into relocating to where family lives in SW Washington.

Was reviewing some of the Covell videos which led me to Lazze's page. Looked at prices and classes but no way can I afford $5200 for each piece of gear. Has to be a lower cost approach for the hobbyist and here I is. Welding skills mehhh, I've done some engine stands and body work but nothing structural. Good reason to take more classes though. Rebuild my own engines (limited to SBC, a 2300 Pinto engine, top ends and trannies on my H-D's) and took 2 years of college body and fender when I was stationed in SoCal. Not a spring chicken these days and while avionics and telecom have treated me well, I have the urge to be creative.

Anyway, while I'm hangin' out in lovely Astan, I figure I can learn something new even if it's not hands on. I should be learning some more networking skills but I'd rather be working metal or wood. Anything with my hands. I've had the privilege of serving our country for right around 26 yrs now, whether active duty or working in Iraq/Afghanistan. I'm sure many on this site have served and probably longer than myself and I say thank you for your service.

Bored you enough with my details but I would enjoy learning from those of you who know the craft so well. I'll try not to push my fingers through an E wheel too many times but hey if I do, it means I have one. Have a great day and hope to get to know you.
