| Winger's Intro

Hey everyone. My name is Kipp and I have joined this site to study up on the art of metal shaping. I just turned 28 and have had had a serious love affair with motorcycles since the first one I saw. That passion has fueled my ambition to learn. I have always enjoyed doing things for myself. Whenever I run into an area of a bike that I haven't had any experience with, I see it as an opportunity to learn something new. My current project is a 1974 Honda CB360 that I am resto-modding to a cafe/bobber/custom. I have rebuilt many bikes, but this is really the first custom build I've done to this extent. So, now I have run into another area of inexperience and that is metal shaping. I have considered several ideas for a rear cowl. Including composites or just a bobbed seat, but what I really would like is a shaped piece of metal. Not to mention that metal shaping has always been very intriguing to me. Thanks.

Welcome to the site Kipp. We all had to start learning at some point, it takes a bit of dedication and practice but it is possible to make anything if you put your mind to it.. David

Thanks, I have a tremendous respect for what you guys do here, and if I can ever posses a fraction of the talent I've seen I would be happy. I'll be shopping around the consignment shops this weekend looking for a wooden bat. Also got some good size logs layin' around. So, hopefully by Monday I can beat on some metal. As for the bike, I'll have some pics in a couple of days. I just made some progress and need to take some new ones. Got some assembly to do first.
