Default hello from alaskadan

Hello metal shapers out there. My name is Dan and i live on the kenai peninsula in alaska. I currently am a partner in a small high end cabinet shop. I also have a small charcoal company selling charcoal in many places around the state. As a hobbyist car restorer im not completely new to playing with metal. Im a good mig welder with experience with thick and thin steel, i have oxyacetalene but need more experience with it. Even a little experience with aluminum casting. Ive joined in order to learn about the use of an english wheel to help in creating a slightly domed aluminum top panel for the top of an aluminum high top for a van. Any suggestions threads to read are welcomed.

Welcome Dan,
I'm up in Anchorage. There is more info here than my brain will hold.
Be sure to look through the photos as well. I would start with Kerry's Art Deco Roadster

Welcome to the forum, Dan.

It's a great place with lots of things to search. Hard to point you to a single of few specifically. There's so much here it's hard to choose. You might do well to just search and note the threads by number of views/pages, view them and then search/view tangent subject threads.

The oxy/acetylene welding rig is a great resource and primary skill to develop, especially for much of what is related to this forum. Just practice, practice, practice. Lots of info here on that as well.

Have fun.
