Default Detroit Motion Co.

Hey everyone,
Name's Dane. I'm from the Detroit area. 25 years young and been building cars and metal art since I was 13. I started Detroit Motion in hopes of making this my career instead of donning the tie and sitting behind a desk forever.

There aren't many people my age that are interested in true craftsmanship. I am really interested in learning how to do things the old-fashioned way. Most of the knowledge that I gain here will be used to automotive/moto purposes (pre '65) but I dabble in furniture, art, etc.

I believe in the preservation of lost arts and skills. The only way to keep it alive is to pass it on.

Teach me.

Welcome Dane you are right about passing on the knowledge. It's very important and there are some great teachers close by right here in Mi. I host a metalshapers gathering in the spring . Keep your eye on this site for more info coming soon.
