Default Hello from Southern Indiana

All,

My name is Trent and I am from Madison, In. I have always loved how a skilled person can take a flat piece of material and create a curved beautiful object. Currently I am working on two projects: a Dodge Shelby Daytona and a Dodge Super Coupe. Currently I am working on the daytona replacing/making new floor boards and some external sheet metal. I also I am trying to build up some tools up for the metal shaping process. Currently all I have is a MIG welder, small shear, bead roller, shrieker/stretcher (HB item looking to get a US made one), and various hand tools. My next tool to buy is a punishing hammer. After the hammer I would would like to get a 4x4 cnc plasma, tig welder, tube bender , and box pan brake or magnetic brake. Also i do powder coating and just finished building my own oven that is 6'x3' X2.5'.

I do have a little sheet metal experience in a large scale manufacturing setting. Use to work at a place that made shipping contianors for the military. There I programed the cnc brakes press, cnc plasma, cnc laser, cnc turret punch and a few other machines plus made a lot of the drawings and did the bend calculations.

I just hope that I can soak up some knowledge on skills and tools and maybe help a few other people out along the way.

Thanks
