Hello to you all.
My name is Derek Martin, and I live in Stoke-On-Trent, England. I have been recently been having to do a lot of welding repairs to my 1997 Land Rover Discovery, and I mean a lot!, anybody who has owned one of these old trucks will also know how they rot. I have been able to make most of my repair panels myself, as so far they have been mainly flat folded panels, Land Rover may have made a car thats rots, but its pretty easy to repair with basic tools. I have struggled with some parts of the repairs, swaged floor sections, curved flanges etc, and I hope to gain the skills from this forum to make these sections properly using the hand tools I have available. Once I feel confidient in metal shaping, I hope to restore a classic car, maybe an MG midget or something not too expensive over here. Derek |
