Hi everyone, I have been a member for quite some time now.
I am building Lotus replica of sorts and am making the nosecone and bonnet/hood one piece tilt at front. Would anyone be able to tell me why my oxy/accet welding is cracking along the weld. I am using store bought rods 5356. Thanks in advance.

How are you taking, and how and from where are you welding?? I think I know the problem ![]() ![]() Peter PS you should use the same ally that you are using by just cutting a strip and use it as rod ![]()

Thanks Peter for the quick reply. I cut a length off the parent metal and welded with that all good no cracks, now all I have to do is not blow so many holes.
