New to this forum, older than most. Lived my entire life in Missouri, just migrated from the East side to the West but due to the weather, I should have gone South. Currently in the Kansas City area and can't get away from my farming history. I do ultra-low refrigeration, (-20 to -150c), to pay for my hobby of restoring old tractors. Managed to hang on to one my Dad bought new in 1954 and purchase a 1937 tractor my grandfather sold in 1984. Currently working on a 1919 Allis Chalmers and could not figure out how to put a wire edge on the hood. Two people on another forum referred me to this site. I'm more of the cut and weld sort or machine it on a lathe or mill, used up most of my patience fishing in my younger years so this will be a challenge. Won't be able to contribute much but will be learning a lot.

Hello Wendell, welcome to the forum. I have done a few sheet metal jobs for tractors, I kind of like the things though I would not say I know much about them. I drove a Ferguson for a few months in my teens while felling trees for logs and working on a smalholding. It was a 1950s machine if I remember correctly.
A couple of wings we made for a tractor, shows the wire edge. David

Hello JW and welcome.
If you want to stay busy learn to weld cast iron with cast iron rod. I weld up a lot of stuff for the Roots of Motiv Power here in northern California. It looks original when finished, not like nickle or brass. Jere
