Hello my name is Gary Romane, I live part of the year in Vancouver Washington, but most of the year in Bandera Texas. I am retired after forty five years of auto body repair. I am very passionate about my hobby of customizing motorcycles. I think my membership will help me learn what tools I might need and how to use them to make anything out of metal. I have recently began building parts out of abs plastic which is also fun.

Gary

Hello Gary, welcome to the forum. The good news is you don't need very much in the way of tools to get started, in fact it's best to start by learning to shape with hand tools. I have a lot of machines but most of my time is spent working with hand tools.

Welcome Gary!

Hopefully you didn't get caught in the ice storm this weekend. I'm up in Austin, and not used to this cold weather!

Hi thom I am still I Washington till Tuesday, the I'm coming back to Texas till June. Ironically it's how they stood up to another guy from Austin that got my attention to this board. The feller up there is not worthy to carry Mr. thommasinis tool pouch.

Drop a note when you get settled in.

There is a huge amount of great folks on this board, so the goal is to just learn how to make metal behave.
