Default Hello from Portland, Maine

Hello AllMetalShaping,

I'm Matt, I'm a 29-year-old journalist living in Portland, Maine. A year ago I bought a rust-free 1994 Mazda Miata. I've rebuilt much of the mechanical parts of the car, and will soon be moving toward body work and fabrication to make my little sports car the vehicle I've always wanted. While the body is relatively straight, I'm very interested in learning how to make and modify body panels, as well as using sheet metal to implement racing-oriented fabrication projects, such as aerodynamic canards, wings, fender flares and air-dams, and eventually, a custom aluminum interior. I grew up around racing, and have been reading books by Ron Fournier and others since I was a child. I'm finally in a position to try to shape some metal myself, so I'm eager to scour this forum for knowledge and tips.

Best,
Matt
