Welcome Geoff. What is marine grade aluminum? What alloy and thickness.

Some alloys are easy, some are hateful.

Hi Kerry, the aluminum is 5083 H116 and thickness 3, 4, 5 and 6mm. We are in the process of building a heavy duty English wheel so will see how it goes. We have already built many hard chine boats in alloy and steel. This one is a bit different and have just put up a website at https://www.mumby48build.com.

Thanks, we have already built boats per the video links and this one is just one more challenge. The only learning curve is forming the bottom plate so will see how it goes. We are building an English wheel for the job.
