David even though I worked in Italy for a wile before emigrating to Australia, it's here, that I learned most of my skills, I was lucky enough to work in the 70's with an Australian that years earlyer won a schoolarship apprentice of the year, and travel to England to work on the prototipe Aston Martin DB6, and no one.. but 3 craftmen from England( we called them Poms over here ) one worked at Aston Martin the other two worked at Rolls Royce..... so you can see why I am saiyng I am so (very very lucky)

PS and yes.. gas weld is the way to go
