Intro for dandigscars (Dan Cencer)
I am a currently unemployed aerospace engineer in the Houston area. I took advantage of my vacation to take Fay Butler's metal shaping class last week. I have always been a car addict -I have grown into a motorcycle and truck addict as well. I already have my own small design and manufacturing company for softgoods (fabrics, films, sewing, heat sealing, adhesive bonding, vacuum forming). I am seriously considering branching out and adding contract metal shaping and metal shaped standard products to my offerings.
Having suffered some setbacks from Hurricane Ike, I am currently looking for an inland workshop in storage facility to accommodate all my business ventures as well as store the rest of my stuff.
I would truly enjoy meeting other metal shapers in the Greater Houston-Galveston area. I am also a fledgling CNC mill machinist using Bobcad and SolidWorks. Currently only have a Sherline CNC mill & manual lathe running. Had a Prolight 2000 4 axis mill in perfect condition before the storm. Now it is another project.
Fay's class was a lot of fun. My classmate is gung-ho on building his own Yoder. I might end up helping him do that. I need to contact Jimmy H to see if he still sells replacement parts for them. That would save us a lot of time.
I am currently trying to learn the differences between all the different Pullmax models (Looks like capacity). Does anyone know of a good reference that describes the various models and their features?
