Thumbs up Message from Aussieland

Hello all,

just a small message from the "lucky country" where is seems everything just rusts and falls apart.

I am in the IT profession and a qualified electrical engineer. However, I spent way to long in the mechanical labs at uni and thus have a distinct mechanical interest for all things. Currently I a restoring an old truck and am going to go the next step in repair that you will all be familiar with.... rust repair and panel replacement.

Guess I will be asking a hell of alot of questions. One of my immediate projects will be the creation of an English wheel. I have some ideas on what to build but will be creating my own anvils. I have a lathe at present so will be looking at doing this from scratch. Profiles will be my first step to creating them. From what I have gathered a 2" wide set is best for panels but a 3" or 4" set is better for a beginner and for support.

Like all who are pushed for time my shed is a little messy currently but I am hoping during the repair I will have some time to both build the shelving I desparately need and get the garage in some state of order.

Cheers

Tim
