Ive been playing with an approach to parts having both reverses and domed shapes in them where I shrink the reverses in first to divide the domed areas which go in secondarily. I am finding this to be a big help getting complex parts to come together without all the tail chasing I was experiencing before.
This is a version of the reverse stake I am using to shrink the reverses in with.
This is a reverse dividing two domes.
and the domes added on the stump.
I used the technique on the frog I posted recently,
I also notice that fairly large or deep reverses can be make with negligible thinning of the metal, since there is little stretching happening without a simultaneous shrinking.
