Default Hi I'm Dave from Orlando, FL

Hello everyone,
My name is Dave.
In 1974, My father bought my mother a 1973 Porsche 911. As a child, it was like aliens had landed in our driveway. I was awe struck by that car, and been an automobile fanatic ever since. Over the years, I began to study metal shaping, forming, sculpting, welding, and general fabrication trying to develop my skills. I am still a beginner but doggedly learning everyday. I am currently working on several projects, some of which are way beyond my skill level, so I work slowly, study, and work some more.
I recently attended one of Mr. Kent White's (TinMan Tech) intensive metal workshops. Wow what a great experience, to be a student of one of the best in the business. He is great guy and sincerely cares about passing on his skills to others. At the workshop, I learned a great deal of things that can only be learned in the presence of a professional craftsman. For me, it was like going to see the Dalai Lama of Metal!
My long-term goal is to build an All American production car that will compete with the Lotus 7, KTM X-Bow, Ariel Atom, etc. In the meantime, I am customizing my 1973 Chrysler Newport (why yes, she is a big girl), building a lightweight prototype car, building an all aluminum 1932 Ford Roadster style racing go-kart, along with other smaller projects designed to develop my skills and techniques. I look forward to learning from the members of the community and if there are members within driving distance of Orlando I would interested in helping others with their projects. Thank you very much and wish you all the very best with your projects!!!
