Default new guy in reno

Hello everybody,
New guy from Reno, NV. Been lurking here for awhile and finally joined. I work as an electrical engineer, so metal shaping is a liltle out of my wheel house but I thoroughly enjoy it. Ever since I took a metallurgy class in school (seemed useless at the time), I've been fascinated with how metal can be controlled. I've been playing around with old cars for years, mechanically rebuilding them but not cosmetically. I always wanted to take that part on but everyone would tell me that is was too hard and best to leave it to the pros. Well, the best way to get me to learn something new is to tell me I can't do it because it's too hard. Started out taking autobody and welding at the JC. I've always liked the old school methods and a buddy at work told me about hammer welding, how that's how they used to do it but it's too slow and way too hard to learn. Game on. Bought several torches, ended up loving the Cobra. Got adept at it, next thing I know I'm grafting SC flares on my buddy's and all his buddies Porsche 911's with my torch, hammers, slappers and dollys. And no Bondo! Now I'm hooked on working with metal and can't get enough of this stuff.
