backward sharpening

when I was shown how sharpen drill bits on a bench grinder I had a lot of trouble getting consistent results .then I tried sharpening from back to front ie start at the trailing edge first and finish...

Steel for tucking forks

f you are looking for strong steel cheap try old shock absorbers the internal rod is made of high quality steel .I have made lots of punches from these just be careful cutting them open lots of oil...

I shortened a triumph motorcycle mudguard just cut out a strip about 2 inches wide where it was split and had some extra holes and was going to oxy weld the two good bits back...
