Butted tube
I have resorted to butting the tube, to prevent getting too thin or splitting. Since you have a lathe, you can make a butting tool. Basically hammering the end of the tube to make it thicker.

I have 25 foot on my old transformer machine. It pretty much just sits at the bench. My portable thermal arc has 12 ft. If the machine is easy to move, 12 is best. 25 ft of cable can be a...

bending
No reason that shape can't be formed on a press brake, with the right tooling. I suspect they lack the tooling. If you are using hardened Aluminum, spring back will have to be accounted for.

I used to use Rocklinizers 35 years ago. I recall paying $1500 or $2000. After I figured out what they were doing, I could make my own with a vibrating engraver and an adjustable power supply. ...

Weld table
Full disclosure, I did not drill the holes. The table is a kit of laser cut parts. The laser cut holes actually work better than drilled hole. They grab the straight shanks better.
I...

My welding table has plain holes (5/8"), no threads. It is easier to keep a straight hole free from spatter than a threaded hole. There are commercial straight shank clamps available. I just...

I have an old hand drill that will drill 1" holes in 1/2" steel with relative ease. Sharp bit of course. With a standard masonry carbide bit a leaf spring can be drilled. The slow speed and high...
