Id flip it to 90, slowly stretching that inside corner as I turned it. Once I got the flange at 90, I would stop, adjust and correct damage on the main panel if any...

I'd be tempted to make each piece fit the hammerform then weld together. Id build the whole nose to about 8" back then weld it to the fender/hood sections.

I don't know if that is the particular place to play games with safety. Lots of questionable work on that car, and the homemade bushings in the 4 link bars scare me. A bushing set is $7 per pair......
