Hello from Manchester UK

Hi folks,
I've always admired the way that some can 'simply' form amazing stuff from plain sheet steel. I have a typical british classic car (high rust content) and need to be able to make some nice patches. Whilst looking around for help and how to's I came across this site. I am sure that there are many skilled people who will be able to help someone who is all fingers and thumbs (not flat yet:)). Largely new to metal working too but always willing to learn - life is just that kind of adventure. Oh and by they way I tend waffle on too much.
Here's hoping for approval ..... and then some help.

Derrick

Welcome to the forum, Derrick :)

I'm only about 30 miles or so South of you. Quite a few of us Brits on here.

Welcome Derrick, always something new here to learn about.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Dan - I'm actually in the southern end of Manchester and drive down your way regularly. Looking round the site I have noticed that David Gardiner is a member here too. This guy is a legend in my small metal working circle. I bought his dvd and am sure that there must be some computer special effects used ;) it's not really possible to do that kind of stuff with so few tools
Back to looking at the amazing stuff on here.

If you liked David's DVD, you should check out Peter Tommasini's DVD's too. Both incredibly skilled craftsmen!

Alright - so I've been here five minutes and am about to spend some more money (Peter Tommasini's DVDs). I can tell it's going to be a good experience (given that there are six DVDs that is a lot of beer and curry nights with some like minded friends!)
