Morning to all of you in the US. I am trying to build a little knowledge about metal working to add some style to some hybrid cafe/steam punk style bikes we are building. Was advised to check this place out.

Brad, welcome and thanks for the introduction. Lots of information here to help you get started and learn about shaping sheet metal. Thanks for joining us.

Brad, dont think you need to invest a fortune in machines to get started especially for the sort of things you intend to make. You can make almost anything with little more than hand tools. Most parts you would be making for your bikes would be fairly small and easily do-able with hand tools. Check out my thread on making bumpers, I will be making the Aston Martin bumper using only hand tools and it will be finished to a good enough standard to be chrome plated.
