New guy from Latvia

Hello, my real name is Maris Briedis I`m 29. In internet I use name Caribbou, because in Latvian Briedis (surname) means Caribou in English.

My profession is IT system and database development and after a hard day at computer I really love to do something in my garage. Till now my experience with metal shaping is only watching youtube videos and TV shows. Recently I bought a house and finally I have my own small workshop and hopefully one day I will start a restoration project of an old Ford.

Welcome Maris. What kind of old Ford do you have?

Ford escort 1980, not very old, but older then me. I don`t want to start with complex project. I would like to restore F100 pickup 1953–1956, but it`s not yet in my budget and "how-to" knowledge.

I have Ford Mondeo 1997 as everyday car and also first welding, rust removal and metal shaping experiment. Restored some floor parts and back arches.

As a family car I have Mondeo ST220

Else I have Ford Orion bought when I was 18, this is my first car. Unfortunately not finished project. Low suspension, big bumpers, subwoofers, turbo etc. Every teenager dream :)
This is how it looked before disassembly

Welcome to the site Maris. You don't need lots of tools and machines to begin shaping metal.
