Hello All,
I was a member here years ago and am happy to be back. I do blacksmithing and teach knife making in Wisconsin. Of particular interest to me are pullmax style hammers. |
Hi Rick
Welcome back to Allmetalshaping! I'm not sure how a pullmax would work for forging. The pullmax is more of a press than a hammer. it is a fixed stroke rather than a power hammer that is spring mounted and has an overstroke. others may have tried the forging lets see what shows up.:) |
Steve,
I use it more for cold working sheet, as one would expect. I would like to build one with more of a gap for taller work....like a the "T" Series or some such. I know there were plans at one point for that by a man in the Minneapolis area a decade ago or so. I very much like the set stroke rather than just throwing the energy till it is used. |
