Hello from down under

Hi all

Im Toby, originally from Aberdeen, Scotland but now living in Perth Australia.

Always been fascinated by the fabrication of panels and metal shaping. Have a family friend who is a metal genius and has done some work on very notable and well know cars.

I have a Triumph TR3 and rebuilt a Piper GTT with my father. The Piper is probably a bad word here as it is fiberglass but still requires some shape.

Looking to get started in metal shaping and been reading up on wheeling machines. I know there is a lot of information and budgets do not stretch to the best machines but very keen to see what can be made.

Look forward to being part of some of these conversations.

Welcome to the forum, Toby.

We have some things in common- My great grandfather emigrated from Aberdeen to the USA in March 1891 to cut stone. His son, my grandfather, emigrated from Aberdeen in 1906. They weren't sculptors, but I'm still doing granite.

I also have the TR3B that my parents bought in Feb 62. I drove it through high school and college. It's now waiting patiently for me to restore.

Thanks for the welcome. Have been looking through some of the chats and found it very interesting so far. Just starting out so looking into hand tools to start as most seem to advise.

AC. Hope you get round to your 3B soon. I love driving the 3.
