New from Anderson SC
New guy here, have been doing restoration work for the last ~10 years. The last few, and especially my current project in the shop have pushed me to develop my metal shaping skills further to be able to make the needed repairs properly. MP&C has been posting the progress of the '55 Wagon on another forum I'm on, and he mentioned this forum so I wanted to sign up and check it out.
I'm currently in the middle of scratch-making the bottom 1/4th of a '40 Packard 120 Convertible Coupe. No replacement panels are available so it's all hand made. Most of the panels were very rotted, making it difficult to make accurate patterns. Full build details are posted on the 67-72chevytrucks forum, link is below. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=639218 As delivered: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...80703106_n.jpg http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...62646982_n.jpg Digging deeper: http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...59586264_n.jpg http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...59361847_n.jpg Body squared up, braced, new pans fabricated. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...81802157_n.jpg Body stripped and shot with epoxy. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...psjmfkshzn.jpg New parts ready to go back in. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/...psyoujcgyw.jpg One side completed. I'm currently finishing up the passenger side. Once the cab section is done I'll start on the trunk floor and rear inner fendewells. http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...FEA5C66692.jpg |
Hi John welcome to the forum
nice project you got there :D......... Peter |
Welcome to the site John. I see my arm twisting efforts have finally paid off!
I'd also suggest getting on the waiting list for Redneck Roundup, a fun filled weekend to further hone your skills.... http://www.allmetalshaping.com/showthread.php?t=14274 |
Good to see another SC person here
I've had little time for metal work since joining, but keep watching & planning from Spartanburg. Maybe we can cross paths sometime.
