I'm totally blown away by the skills on the board. Inspirational stuff, makes me want to go out and beat the hell out of something in the shop. I've got lots of metal shapping to do on an old MoPar altered wheel base project. I'm certain you guys are going to change the course of the hardest part of the project. I look forward to getting to know you all.

It's terrific to see another Ontario member joining the crew, our numbers up here have really been growing in the last year or two.

If you'd like to get a good jump start on your metalshaping skills, you really should look up the "Dutch Meet" happening just to the south of you in Herkimer, NY, this coming July. That meet ought to be a pretty short trip for you since you are living in Kingston.

We just had a meet out here in Flamborough a couple of weeks ago, so you just missed us this spring, but we'll keep you posted about any other get-togethers we plan later in the year if you are interested.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

So far, the most I have done is a few patches here and there, nothing too taxing for the metalshaping word. Soon I'll be doing body patch panels, dash extension, floor and frame extensions which I would like to do with similar to stock stiffening beads and contours.

Once the back half is complete, I will be installing a straight axle up front and moving the fron wheels ahead ~5 inches. I'll have to re-work the front wheel openings to make this work... I'll get more practice on the hidden metal before I cut a good set of fenders. :D


Here are a few shots of where I am at so far;

Body and chassis section moved forward and moved into place. I love those little aluminum camper jacks. Way better for setting up than standard jack stands!

Space left in the truck where the floor was split to allow rear suspension to roll forward.

Back dash an seat bracing temporarily removed to allow cutting of "c" pillar structures and rear door panels. Not seen is the seam where the section of floor is removed.
