Hello from Michigan

My first exposure to metal shaping was in 1981 when a refuge from Vietnam came to work at our shop. We was fresh off the boat. One of his sponsors asked if my boss could evaluate him to see what he knew. His first job was to patch up a 73 Thunderbird. What I saw amazed me. Sounded like a thousand beats per minute using a hammer, mason chisel and a block of hardwood. He was not a master but I learned a lot from him. I've had some experience and can make a nice small panel. Had one commissioned job making some bagger fillers that turned out cool. Maybe I'll post some pics . Mike

Here are some pics of my first commissioned project. It started out with a friend buying "4inch bags" for his Harley, He showed me a catalog picture of the fender fillers he could buy and I opened my mouth and said we can do better. Well... I started out by carving some foam to a general shape. Then I formed the first with mallet, bag and forming head. From that one, I made a flex shape pattern with tape method and a buck of 1/4 in plywood. then, proceeded to make two pairs plus extend the fenderAttachment 30715. One bike he kept and the other he sold.
