My name Rob.

I live in Southern Oregon. Like most people here I enjoy the outdoors and shooting guns.

I am a helicopter mechanic by trade. I work on a big orange Aircrane by day. We like to call it 88 feet of torture. It's a very maintenance intensive aircraft. I currently work as a general mechanic but I used to work as an aircraft sheet metal technician. Most aircraft metal is not weld able. So it's a lot rivets and such.
That kind of lead me into my current hobby which is restoring old vw buses. I enjoy doing anything involving metal shaping and welding. I really love doing that type of work. Mainly cause aircraft work has so many restrictions that don't exist in working with steel. I also do everything else on my cars. Including interior and engine building. I kind of find challenges by expanding my ability to do everything myself.
For instance i found this site by trying to figure out how to bend u channel in a curve. Currently trying to make window frames so I can make my own hinged windows for my current project.
