Hammer Slammer from Minnesota

I'm a retired US Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic and current truck and trailer body repair technician for a window manufacturer with it's own truck fleet. I am restoring a 1956 Nash Metropolitan. I have a heated (very necessary in the frigid north) 1200 square foot shop, homemade English wheel, planishing hammer and 4ft sheet metal brake, Harbor Freight bead roller and shrinker/stretcher, multiple hammers and dollies, shot bag and mallets. I have made floor pans and several patch panels for the Metropolitan. I am hoping to learn more metal shaping techniques and see what other members are working on.

Welcome David.
The only Nash Metro I saw customized was in Salt Lake years ago. Seems a tall girl needed more head room in that car, so she took and axe and lopped off the roof. Came along winter, and she clobbered up some plywood that fit around the door glass and windshield.

Can't say it ever reached max value.

Thanks for the welcome

The Met has been a very long term project which came from Canada and has been dragged through half the country while I was in the Navy. It was pushed to the back burner many times but now I think I will have the time and resources to work on it. The plan is to complete the extensive rust repair, then transplant a 2.8l v6 out of a 1986 S10 I bought last year.
