Smith torch tips
Good day kind sirs,I’m wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to procure some torch tips for a smith ne140b torch. It’s a beauty and in great shape but it came with a tip that said 1/8,yep it runs hot hot hot.Does anyone have any other information on this model?thanks in advance

It's very similar to the Meco Midget torch that is very popular. It was marketed as a jewelers torch. I think it was a predecessor to the Smith Little Torch and was discontinued. A quick google search for tips didn't turn up anything so it looks like tips would be hard to find.
It is very similar to the Meco and the tips attach the same way. Perhaps they would fit. The person that would know would be Kent White. (crystallographic) I would contact him through a PM here or through his website. https://www.tinmantech.com/ |
tips
I machined a simple adapter to use the Meco tips. Works well.

Thread type
Thanks for the input Bill,do you know the thread type and size that’s on the torch tip? I’m trying to figure a way to ask you to fab me an adapter since you haven’t blown yourself up yet.it’s a big ask,but I’ll pay dearly.no worries if not I’ll keep looking
Thanks Brian |

My torch has a 1/4" tube. Not sure the previous thread, but as I recall it was not standard. So, I cut it off and silver brazed the adaptor. If you are up for that, I can send an adapter. |

Hi Bill, That is a cool adapter. Great that you can help solve this torch problem because I have found no answers at all for this chap. :):) |
