aluminum tube size

I'm planning on building an aluminum body over an aluminum tube buck. my question is what diameter, wall thickness and alloy of tubing would be best to use?

Hi Dave
You don't say if the "buck" is to be the permanent supporting frame for the body on the vehicle itself, or if its purpose is only the form on which to shape the panels?
If the latter, then why aluminium and not steel - which is cheaper and IMO, less fussy to mess with?

Hi Manny,
My intention would be to leave the tubing in the finished body to add strength and reinforcement, possibly for a tilt front end.
