Propane hoses
I'm using a large air/propane torch for general heating jobs in the shop. The hose supplied with the torch is really stiff and resists uncoiling making it ungainly to use, especially in cooler temps. Can anyone point me toward a hose material that would be more flexible and be appropriate for propane?
Thanks, Mark |
How about braided silicone hose?

Find a local hydraulic hose shop. They should be able to make up anything you need, ends and all. I had a rubber hose, propane rated, made from a local shop that works nicely for my casting furnace. Some Welding supply stores can make up hoses also. No problems out here where I live anyway. Love your work Mark, any new projects? I don't have facebook.

Hi Mark,
I'd avoid "thermoplastic" hose rated for propane because of stiffness and life. I do prefer "T" grade reinforced neoprene hose, which lives flexibly for years. "Ask for it by name." :):) |
Thanks for these helpful replies. I'll have a look into the options available in my area.
And to Ron, Thanks for the compliment, and I'll make a post separate from this. -Mark |
