David Gardiner DVD

I want to say that I am VERY new to metal shaping. I am neck deep in sheet metal replacement on my dad's 1932 Plymouth. I truly feel that the best tool investment that I have made so far on this project has been David Gardiner's DVD. http://www.metalshapingzone.com/ I am really working hard at the metal shaping that I am doing and am struggling a bit, but I have some clue now that I have seen his hand work methods. I am happy with the results that I am getting. I am especially pleased with my new found love of gas welding. Thanks David.

David's DVD is great. For me it is like watching Bob Ross paint.

"Here's a happy little piece of aluminum. Let's put some happy welds on it. See how easy that is?"

?? That is not the approach of my teaching or my DVD I show how to do the process in as concise a way as possible I have never said things were easy I say practice practice practice. There are no shortcuts. I don't show lots of over complicated information but all the information is there. I don't drag each task out to make an entire DVD on one subject. My DVD shows things I know about and am practiced at.

David, it was satire based on an old show that used to be on TV here of a painter, "King of Canvas", Bob Ross that would paint landscapes. That was the way he talked while showing how to paint. The comment made me laugh because I remember watching it. I am sure no offense intended. Your DVD is pure gold IMHO.

You shouldn't feel insulted, Bob Ross was amazing!

David,
Bob Ross was a character on TV here who spoke in gentle tones and always in a half hour created paintings that would look great in the lobby of any budget motel.

His catch phrase was "happy little..." trees, clouds, mountains, etc. which he would paint in one or two strokes of a palette knife.

Here's a funny video parody clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLO7tCdBVrA

Ross died some years ago allegedly of AIDs. Jokes about him haven't diminished since his demise.

Your skills, demos, and results are decidedly UN-Ross like!
