Sarah: I won't ever try to fool Gene Olson. He nailed that one right on.

I hope the base doesn't mean anything—there is always that danger when making anything that looks Oriental. I just made it up.

Kerry: I went directly to the metal Artist's Forum and signed on. Never knew it was there. Thanks. (Gene Olson was there too.)

Here are a pair of shoes I made a few years ago—my first experience with forming stainless. Those heels were a challenge. After trying conventional methods, and accumulating a sizable junk pile, I welded up a buck/hammerform from 1/8 inch steel plate with plenty of clamping screws to hold the sheet metal. Then I applied the heat—red hot stainless forms quite nicely. Once roughed in, the planishing was easy.

They are about 36 inches long and 32 inches tall.

I had a project to male last year out of .025 SS that required me to make extremely tight corner bends. Tried 304 , it would crack at the bend line, I then used 301 half hard and it did everything SS is susposed to do I and my customer were very happy with the outcome! I love your work.
