Yeah, I edited the mime type for jpeg images in hopes it would help the other browsers....instead it seemed to just screw things up for the IE8/Vista folks. changed it back this evening.

Can't help ya with OSX, not Mac equipped here.
The cache will not transfer between Netscape and IE, they store the cache in different places. Still looking at everything! I'm going to have to go through the templates too, to see if I can find anything unusual. Tim D. |

Checked it out with the default style template.....the problem is nothing we have changed....so that eliminates templates as the source of the problem.
Firefox is still totally blind when it come to pictures. Tim D. |

From looking at the resulting source code, it would be easy to assume that the MetalMeet linked image works and the others don't because the MM/PhotoPost version actually results in a file name that ends in .jpg, while the others are a .php code. That, however does not hold true.
There are reports and articles all over the web about this problem.....however, no solution has been offered by the FF developers, the VB developers or the the users who hate IE/Microsoft. I'm not a Microsoft fan either, but it all works for me. I've done lots of research, but, so far, haven't come up with the slightest hint of an answer. It has something to do with the way FF handles .php code, which is how VB is coded. Have any of the FF users (or Moz, or Safari, or Chrome, or Opera, or ????? users) tried the metalmeet link I posted? Since very few MM users seem to use inline attachments, it would stand to reason that there would be very few problems viewing the vast majority of pictures on MM. We use attachments and VB Albums quite extensively for posting pictures here....which could explain some difference. Tim D. |

Hi Tim,
Everything looks the same to me today, I still only see two of the images. Since some of the pictures weren't there, I may have been wrong yesterday when I was trying to figure out which ones I had, so I looked it over again this morning. Here's what I can and cannot see with PC, XP, IE8: __________________________________ Linked from the HAMB: No image Linked from MetalMeet: Image displays Linked from AllMetalShaping albums: No image Attached: Image displays __________________________________ Thanks for your efforts Tim, I know what this platform compatibility stuff can do to ones brain after a few days! Hang in there guys! Ken |
