Yes, apologies for any confusion. That should have read masking tape. I can't type as well as I used to.

On the bike
Here's the current state of the tank. Rear fender was a garage and frankly the rest of the frame was a garage project too. I'm learning it's never really done...

looking good! Dont the police harp you on your license plate being vertical? When I lived in Maple Grove MN, I got told to change it a few times.

As to plates, grabbed this at mn.gov website "The license plate must be securely fastened to prevent swinging; displayed horizontally or vertically with letters and numbers facing outward from the vehicle; and in an upright position. 169.79 subd. 3, 7 " So far no questions or problems

maybe a second try with a new buck
Stretched and changed shape of the bottom a bit. I'm thinking I could do compound curved area on top in 3 pieces? The tunnel and the simple curved flats on the bottom would make 3 more pieces. And one cap on the narrow end. Any thoughts?
I'm also thinking of getting a dolly for work like this. Would this one be a good shape? http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-obl...ing-dolly.html IMG_1476.jpg IMG_1478.jpg

Getting started
Looks like it will be 4 pieces on the upper portion. Started with the idea of only 3 and quickly determined I can't shrink that much. Made a nice tuck fork to use instead of stump. I like that you can place the tuck deep and precisely.

more work on first piece
Trying to take more time on this tank. Learned how to shrink a spot I overstretched using a piece of aluminum pipe as a donut dolly. So far so good.
