Default Dinosaur with one foot in the tar pit

Hi Guys:

First - kudos to the guys who created this forum! Because of your efforts, lots of us in the metal shaping community are more informed and improving our skill levels.

I've been restoring cars "off and on" for 47 years (the "off" times were spent as a mechanical designer of processing/automotive plants, conveyors, machinery, fixtures, etc). Over the years I've worked on a variety of cars - finally evolving into a few favorite marques. My restoration skills are mostly self taught (meaning I had a lousy teacher and I still have a lot to learn). Like many of you, I'm addicted to collecting equipment & various metal shaping "toys".

If you want to kill some time on the computer, you're welcome to visit my website. I'm not trolling for business as I'm a "dinosaur with one foot in the tar pit" with way too many projects already. There's not a lot of metal shaping content on my site, but nonetheless you may find a few of the automotive restoration/preservation projects shown interesting: www.racingicons.com

Thanks again for the forum!

John Galt (yes, I'm of that political persuasion)

John, welcome to AllMetalShaping hope you enjoy your time here. I spent some time on your web site, very nice. Was into Corvettes many years ago, I really like the early vet the best. Thanks for joining us.

John, that is a very impressive body of work, especially on the GT40's. I had a guy contact me last year that had one of the aluminum bodied ones.

Welcome to AllMetalShaping.

Kerry: Thank you for the compliment. Yes, I had the pleasure of meeting you up at one of the Oblong IL events & we've talked a few times since.

"Who is John Galt?" Just read "Atlas Shrugged" for the fourth time...

Ah Ok, I remember you. You said you had a 'little' restoration shop that did old race cars. Can you say "understatement"? Did you ever find someone to the work you asked about?
