Brent, good eye. I believe you are talking about the transition area (from the rear, round panel to the more square side panel "V" ). During fitting on the drivers side, by mistake, I stretched(hammer and wheel) the lower part. You may be able to see the shrinker/stretch marks in red circle. On the passenger side used the only the wheel as a fulcrum to bend the metal.
I am thinking a urethane upper wheel would have saved me a lot of work. I was going to finish the weld with the wire feed, but now may use OX in an attempt to pull some of the crown out.

Working on a cold air induction for the turbo, hood vent and dash. Here are some pictures of the hood vent. I hit my E-wheel's 21" limitation on the hood, could use air planisher, bigger wheel with 1" wide anvils.

Kent - I tried to follow the method Pete Tommasini's used on the Ferrari hood. Lacking that huge sand bag, I hammer blocked the hood into a 4x4 block of wood. A small Whitehouse raising hammer with small faces was used extensively. So the front part of the vent was raised and the rear was lowered. The end goal is for it to be smoother.
I dimpled key spots during layout that were visible from both sides. To keep the front rise as straight as possible(ASAP) I welded a right angle to a work table that holds a 1"x5"x10" block of steel(anvil). The block of steel sits above the table about 4". Then a 5' 2x4 piece wood was vise griped to the table to maintain the proper distance as the hood was worked back and forth.

Cleaned up the hood raised area, still have some cottage cheese on the small downward angle. Fitted aluminum hexagon screen to the intercooler and hood openings. The screen is black.

Thanks Pat. The car is the final phase. Hopefully 3-4 months from now the finished product will be revealed. When I started this project I operated under the delusion it would take a year. That was 11/2010. There has been some scope creep (maybe alot).

Compression readings were a downer and suspect carbon buildup affecting valves. The engine has been sitting a long time so going test fire it. At least my wiring may be validated or not.
