That is very clever! Someone with that amount of intelligence should consider building race cars or race car motors....

Thanks Will, I might try building race engines and cars. Who knows maybe I'll set some records.

Fantastic looking stance and the rear wheel looks great with the tire combo.

I have gotten some cool tools from Rock Hill Will that I've been practicing with. Here's the pic before I do the edge.

Here's a picture of some reinforcement that's roughly similar to the factory pieces. Not my best day of welding, but these are hidden pieces so they'll stay.

This is what the old pieces looked like.

The spot welded band of material above the license recess is some old structure left from original. It caused a lot of trouble trying to weld. That band of material kept wanting to melt and pull away like it was aluminum, even though it was thicker than the new metal.

Nice bit of hammer form work there I take it.

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Thanks Marcus, the hammer forming was the easy part. Getting the lower flange to fit the lower panel was tough. That lower panel is a dish shape at the rear and will be a removable panel so the body will lift off. Those hammer formed pieces also tie the body mount to the interior, so the whole thing stays relatively rigid when lifted off.

Thank you Wayne, these supporting pieces are more complicated than I had realized! Designing fit, serviceable and access to planish the skin weld seems are challenging for me.

I wasn't really happy with the very first panel I shaped for my Jag. It had a swollen area that was too large for the shrinking disc. So, I made a new piece and gas welded it in. This O/a welding is getting so much easier these days. Practice, Practice.
