Help picking O/A regulators
My ancient Marquette's are about to give up the ghost, I would like to buy a good set of regulator's that would allow me to adjust down to the low pressures needed with say a Meco type torch but also work well when adjusted up for standard type torches for like general auto repair type stuff, heating nuts, cutting spring hangers etc.. O/A sheetmetal welding is something new I want to learn and having both capabilities would be nice, is it possible to have both in the same regulator?

Since welding torches require 1-6psi, and cutting requires 8-15psi, the regulator is needed to accurately cover a broad range - especially since the secondary (outlet) side gauge is 0-100 psi, and is only being used at a fraction of that. Having a name brand reg is a good start. Prices range from $80 each for single stage to $250 each for the dual stage models. You don't have to buy "low -pressure regs" for welding, because you can use the secondary knob on the reg to set your torch and ignore the gauge - which is not accurate at all at pressures less than 10psi. This is an old aviation method: http://www.tinmantech.com/products/w...dget-torch.php If you can find an add-on reduction regulator for the oxygen side, it should take the outlet gas pressure from there and meter it accurately to 0-30psi. For instance: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WELDING-PRES...IAAOSwTapV3L2k Hope this helps,

That link takes you to a gauge for a regulator, do you have a suggestion for the regulator, itself?
