Thanks very much guys.
One thing I failed to mention is that as the Fairlane was a unibody car the stock inner rockers were made from 16 gauge. The new rockers are 9 pounds lighter for the pair. And as they say subtracting weight is just like adding Horse Power.

Poster board pattern for the receiver panel for center tin and wheel tub top indexing.
22 gauge cold roll part made from the pattern.
Welded in from bottom side. Note the bottom side of the panel is straight all the way across from side to side to help index and locate the tops of the wheel tubes.
Welds sanded down and 4130 sheet runners welded in for center tin nesting.
Center tin pattern being developed.

You sure have to love interior work on these rigs - because there is SO much of it to build the car properly. Once you get the mindset going it starts to flow - without Too Much re-figuring.
Very nice fits and planning.
( I keep remembering your bead-stopper stomper !! )

Thanks Kent;

Thinking ahead in the chassis building phase with the sheet metal in mind as the tubing is being placed can make life a lot easier come sheet metal time.

I would like to take another one of your work shops. I need to call and find out which one fits my goals best.

Thanks again Steve

Excellent work Steve. It's taken me two days to read the complete thread in between working and teaching. Please stop by if you are going south for any reason.

I was wondering if you will be going to the Mini Nats. at Sanoma this weekend?

Keep the photos coming. Enjoying the build.

Jere

Jere;

Thanks for the at a boy and the invitation. This is perfect as I seen some of your posts and your location and was going to get a hold of you. You are only 2 hours away. Good excuse for a little road trip and I do go south from time to time for work in Sacramento.
Thank again Jere

Steve,

Thank you and it will be great to have you back.
I'll have to dig up a few challenges for you...

Heading to Mozart Auto Museum next week. Got an invite. Looking forward to seeing all the work all together and finished, and in one place. It's been a while.
