Default Hi From the west Midlands here in the UK

Hi all,

My name is Tony and I have joined the forum on recommendation from a really helpful guy I have corresponded with on Facebook!

I have worked in IT most of my career, but retired 7 years ago. Always been an engineer at heart though!

my hobby is cars and motorbikes, and I try to do a project every year over the winter months. this year its a Ducati.

I like to fabricate my own parts, hence joining the forum, hoping to pick up a few tips!

I tend to keep a blog on my projects, here is a link to the latest one which I am currently in the middle of. I hope to make a tank in Aluminium as a project soon, but first I need to make a wheeling machine!

Hello again Tony and welcome to the forum. Before you start cutting metal for a Wheel, it would be a good plan to have a practice on somebody else's with some tank shaped bits. I built mine based on a local machine from New Zealand, but it's squarely aimed at car stuff and larger panels. Try and have a look for somebody who has a compact one with plenty of clearance around the lower anvil, for inspiration. One of my buddies here built a small one specifically for bike and complex aircraft stuff. I'll try and find some photos for you.
