Default Coachbuilding

Hi Folks
I come from Auckland, New Zealand and have been working in this industry for over 40 years.
I started out in 1969 as an apprentice panelbeater/coachbuilder, I had to start out in a crash shop as there were no dedicated restoration shops even back then.
My technical college tutors used to conduct night classes for do it yourself enthusiasts, so I started there to learn how to make bodies.
After I had been working for about 20 years doing restoration on steel cars I met a very clever local who was a master at aluminum and luckily for me he agreed to teach me.After working with him for about 5 years he came and worked for me for another 10 years, so I feel very fortunate to have had the experience.
I am looking to pass on the knowledge via the internet and was wondering if anyone would be interested some ongoing instruction?
You can see a small sample of what I have been up to on my web site www.car-restoration.com, I have a lot more on dropbox but I haven't worked out how to send it to anyone.

Cheers..........Alan Bowden

Welcome to AllMetalShaping Alan.

VERY impressive skills. I took the liberty of linking to one of the photos from your site.

posting photos here is easy and there is a tutorial on the 'getting started' forum. If you already have them somewhere on the internet, you can just click on the yellow box with the mountain in it and insert the URL. That is what I did above. Or you can upload them as attachments.

We really like photos.

Hi Alan ,
Welcome to metal shapers.
Love your work and pictures at your website.
I was wondering if you were the gent who built the two chevrolet speedster bodies in the Auckland motor museum?
Cheers Jack
