When something is done and without a car to reference you can't tell what is done, that is always a sign of a great job in my opinion.

When I first saw this posted, I was thinking how can you make a chopped top look good on this car. I was wrong, you were right, it was a homerun for sure.

Default windshield

I hate to be a pest, but my mind can't rest after seeing how well the windshield worked out. I studied the metal "mold" for the glass, but it is not adding up. Did the the glass factory make another mold based on your perimeter? How were the curves blended? Still looks like magic to me.

Very cool project. Thanks for posting.

That old Caddy turned out really well with good lines and confirmation.

The bent glass worked up really well too. Used to be guys back years ago who would cut down bent glass for chops but they faded away to where only a few remain now. And it does not sound too good from what I am hearing....
I'm no expert of the windshield thing, though I've had a good number of Plex sides, rears, and odd bits made down at Aircraft Windscreens, when Judy was running it. Always fit, always looked good with the flame-polished edges.

Then for front glass, we would take the just-made Plex windscreen, confirm it, bolster it and send it off to Standard Bent for a glass version, with a few extras made along with. But that was years ago when the Vintage race thing was a rising tide ...

Default Kuttilan autolasi oy

Very nice build Jouni. Well done. It’s super cool as well to have this small family run windshield company near by. I remember I’ve read an article in Wheels some years ago.
Now they also have an English webpage

The mold I made for the windshield is not the one the company used to make the windshield, they need one with hinges for the curves. I made the mold for the company to further modify. But as happened, they had a appropriate mold for the windshield already
The windshield is curved in two directions, the hinges take care of the corners but the vertical curvature is just eyeballed when making the glass.
