Default Looking for S. Texas classes or mini-meet

I live between Austin and Houston Texas so it is easy to drive either direction. Surely somebody gives basic metal shaping classes in one on the two metropolitan areas. I've already got a stump and beater bag but want to get some first hand instructions before I start any bad work habits.

Thanks, Terry

Terry you're exactly one day late:

I'm not aware of anyone who teaches in your backyard. You might have to drive a bit.

If you are interested in more information about our meets or have questions just PM me or e-mail Don Bartlett at: stingshp@taylortel.net

Hi, Terry. I'm in Hutto Texas. I agree that some type of mini meet in this area would be great. I've been kicking the idea around in my head for a while.

Chaz- I've been watching the results of your meets and have considered driving up. The only problem is it is about a 3+ hour drive one way. If something doesn't come up down here I'll probably come your way one weekend.

Mike B.- Hey the two of us could get together and have a "micro meet". I know there are a lot of Austin guys on the H.A.M.B. forum, but not sure how many are on AMS or MM. Why not try a post on each and see how many people pop up?

Thanks to all for your replies.

Terry

I drive all the way from San Antonio and stay in a hotel 2 nights just so I can be with a bunch of really nice guys that are all intertested in metal shaping. A couple of guys drive from the Galveston area. Hope to meet you some day soon. Wherabouts in mid-Texas do you live?
Peace,
Chaz

Ha! I know exactly where that is. I've been thru there many times over the years. There are some good little car shows over in that area. Keep in touch with us.
Peace,
Chaz

I met Chaz at Granbury in March. It is a great place to learn and meet some cool metal shapers. I hope to make it up there again before the end of the year. It would be worth the trip for you to go. I would be interested in getting together with any metal shapers in this area that want to work on some projects and exchange ideas. Terry, do you have any specific projects or techniques you are interested in working on?
