Default P5 PULLMAX - Ebay UK

For anyone in the market, this has come on today at £3K / $4.7K

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...E:B:SS:GB:1123

Apparently ex QinetiQ who are the privatised arm of UK Defence Research.

Thought I'd post in case anyone here was interested.

Not a bad price considering all the accessories and tooling.

Its quite a lot for a P5 in the UK. I have one I paid £700 for with a fair bit of tooling, I bought a P21 a year or so ago that cost me half that with a lot more tooling.

David, genuinely, thanks for that. It quantifies it for me in respect of the UK market as I have no knowledge of them at all. The first time I had ever heard of a Pullmax was reading through this forum after recently joining and I regard them as a serious bit of commercial tooling for those whose time is money with the available space.

PS - As an aside, are these normally 3 or single phase?

Regards

I think Pullmax machines are climbing in value as a lot have been scrapped over the years and more people now seem to want them. I bought a P21s 8 years ago for £450 and sold it a couple of years back for just under £1200 (been kicking myself since). Recently there was a P5 in Nottingham that made just under £2000 with very little tooling so I think that the prices are increasing and sellers know this. When I bought mine there was a choice of about 5 or 6 on ebay at the time and none of them made a particular amount of money.

As with everything though, they'll only ever be worth what someone is prepared to pay at the time.

Mine were probably a bit if a bargain but three grand for a P5 is steep.

Value depends on the need. Myself I can't imagine making panels without a pullmax style machine. I got a deal on my Baker Truedge machine but looking back now I could have payed 3 times the money I payed for it (500USx3) and it still payed for it's self a few times over.... It all depends on the work you have planned for it.
