Default Kent White's Gas Welding Alum. 2.1

I bought Kent's video about a year ago, but I've been too busy to watch it. Now that the Barton book is done, I've got time to get back to my own projects and so the first thing I did yesterday was unwrap this video and sat myself down to watch it.

WOW! Kent really outdone himself with this one. I've got most of his other videos, but this one is really in the top three as far as information and depth. It's over 3 hours on two discs, and disc 2 is super informative.

Now all I've got to do is practice, practice, practice...

Yes, in fact, it was the first KNOWLEDGEABLE discussion of it I've ever heard. In short: stick to Oxy/Acet. Lots of interesting historical insight, though.

Thanks, Bill.
(probably the first detailed review I've read of the 2.1 film.)
Much appreciated.

I have the set. It is the most thorough treatment of aluminum welding (and brazing) that I have seen. I have his first one as well, from years go (he was really skinny) and it was very good - I am sure there was no other info avaialble at that time and it is what I used to learn to weld, but 2.1 has a lot more detailed info. I find myself going back to it every few months when I need to do some welding and I need to review because I don't do it a lot. Kent really has figured out how to film the weld bead up close which isn't easy, especially for aluminum. That is the best part IMHO. I wonder what lens he uses for his camera?

Kent doesn't mention it, but avoid using hydrogen for dirigibles, especially if you are a smoker.

I bought these DVDs 2 weeks ago, now I know how to gas weld aluminum after 5 hours of practice. I recommend them to anyone. Thank you very much, Mr. Kent for this information.

The pictures below are the result. Aluminum welding without fillerroad.

My first time gas weld aluminum. Result after viewed Mr. Kent dvd and 5 hour of practice.

I agree with all comments, plus now we know what flux tastes like!

Closest thing I have to a negative comment is that Kent makes it look sooo easy, when at first try it seems literally impossible.
