At first I thought it must be April 1st, as I don't deserve MSOTM, as there are MUCH more talented people on this wonderful forum. But I'll gladly accept it. Of course this means I had better tidy the lamp up now and finish it to a standard that befits such an honor.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I have learnt most of it from this forum.
Kent My Ali gas welding is getting better (thanks to your eyewear, torch and DVDs) so the finished weld isn't too rough! I take the top off with a die grinder and in this case all planishing was done on the wheel which leveled it nicely and didn't need too much nit picking to get a good finish. I take my hat off to anyone who has to earn a living from metalshaping, cos it takes me ages to get an acceptable finish.
