Looks good Richard. If it comes out as well as the Imola tank, which I am very impressed with, it will be a great job well done.
I am moving to Nelson late this year so hope that one day I can have a look through your workshop when up North. Cheers

Thanks Neil - hopefully keep it off the walls in the first race! However I'm not sure about it being next year - lots to do and lots to learn yet.

Very kind Rick. By all means touch base if you are passing through Auckland and if you are still into Bevels, you might like to check out the vicious geriatric gang I've joined - IMOC (Italian Motorcycle Owner's Club). You are going to have some of the best roads and scenery on the planet to carve through.

Buck is complete
Finally got there on the buck for the Group 5. Time for some aluminium.
Using an HDPE strip to check the fair My old spokeshave became the tool of choice for whittling down the reverse

Buck looks great, Richard.
After you glued up the mdf and shaped it, what if anything did you topcoat or seal it with- nothing, more glue, some polyurethane or similar or ??

Thanks Marcus, Neil and AC.
Neil, you would be so quick to knock out another one How hard can it be? AC, the bulk of the buck is just sloshed with some single pack polyurethane to hold back the moisture. The detachable tail pieces however have several coats of moisture cured single pack polyurethane, which harden the surface sufficiently for hammerforming/flowforming on (providing you are only making a couple off).
